Community volunteers of faith and good-will from diverse backgrounds work alongside staff and resident volunteers to manage day-to-day shelter operations. There are currently 50 community volunteer shifts available each week. Volunteer positions include guest registration, floater, outdoor monitors, and morning crew.

If you are interested in volunteering, click here to complete an Online Volunteer Application and subscribe to the Sanctuary Volunteer Updates E-Newsletter.

If you would prefer, you can complete the Volunteer Application (hard copy) and send it in by mail or in an email attachment if you prefer.

P.S. All volunteers must subscribe to the e-newsletter as this is the primary means for scheduling volunteers. A list of volunteer positions needed will be sent out (almost) weekly along with other news of interest about Sanctuary. Volunteers who would like to be scheduled, email to request a specific shift and then receive a confirmation email.

If you would like to help organize volunteers within your congregation or at your place of employment, please contact Jayne Sorrels, Shelter Director at info@interfaithsanctuary.org. Presentations to adult education classes, staff meetings, or other group gatherings can be scheduled to provide information on Sanctuary and volunteer opportunities. An organizing kit and assistance can be provided to make this easy!
